At the end of last year this activity increased its turnover by 13.6 million euros, opened 92 establishments, added 4 new networks and generated 223 jobs
The report "The Franchise in Spain 2019", prepared by the Spanish Association of Franchisors (AEF, http://www.franquiciadores.com/), reflects that the sector of the Dry Cleaners / Laundries increases and consolidates in the franchise system , growing in: number of networks, opening of establishments, jobs generated and billing, at the end of 2018.
In this sense, and as stated in the last report of the AEF, there are currently 26 networks that are operating in this sector, therefore there are 4 more chains in the market than at the end of 2017, which means an increase of 18.1%.
Regarding the billing data, this activity obtained a turnover of 252.1 million euros in 2018, for the 238.5 million obtained in 2017, which translates into an increase of 13.6 million euros. euros, 5.7% more.
As for the number of operating establishments that this activity adds up, the figure is 1,732, 92 more than in 2017, when it accounted for a total of 1,640 stores, that is, 5.6% more.
Regarding the jobs generated by this sector, at the end of 2018 it employed 3,776 people, for the 3,553 who worked in 2017, therefore now employs 223 more workers, which is equivalent to an increase of 6.2% .
At the same time, and at the international level, the AEF study “The Spanish Franchise in the World 2019” records that the Dry Cleaning / Laundry sector has 11 networks operating in 39 markets, with a total of 660 establishments.
 

En opinión de Luisa Masuet, Presidenta de la AEF, “este sector lleva varios años de crecimiento continuado, lo que es un claro indicador de que se ha hecho su propio hueco en el sistema de franquicias y que, además, van apareciendo nuevas cadenas en esta actividad, por lo que le auguramos un futuro prometedor”.

A su vez, Eduardo Abadía, Director Ejecutivo de la AEF, subraya que “esta actividad está dando respuesta a las demandas de los consumidores, que en la sociedad actual cada vez tienen menos tiempo para lavar y planchar su ropa, por lo que este tipo de enseñas tienen y tendrán un importante recorrido y crecimiento en el mercado y, por supuesto, en la franquicia, tanto en España como internacionalmente”.
